Mystery writer, Nancy Curteman, loves to travel and adores reading mystery novels so of course she writes travel mysteries. One of her novels, “Murder in a Teacup,” set in Montana, placed second in the California Writers Club Jack London novel contest. “Murder Casts a Spell,” set in South Africa, was voted 2013 Best Mystery Novel. “Murder Down Under,” set in Australia was #5 in the top ten best mystery novels of 2015. Solstice Publishing recently released her novels, “Murder on the Seine,” set in France and “Lethal Lesson” set in California.

A transplant from Idaho, she now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area where she is working on her seventh Lysi Weston novel set in Ireland.

Thanks to you and your fellow mystery writers for doing what you do. I love a great mystery novel as much as any book, but I don’t have it in me to write one. I tried, but my brain just doesn’t grasp the mechanics of the plot structure.
Then, I never guess the killer when I read a mystery, despite being reasonably clever in real life. I’m like the stiff inspector who is outwitted by Miss Marple every time.

My blog is linked to Facebook so when I write a post, it shows up on Facebook. I also periodically advertise my books with links to their sale pages. I try to make comments and click likes on other peoples Facebook comments. I plan to do more with Facebook when I have a bit more time. I hope this helps.

I’m very happy with your blog.
I will serve as a Peace Corps volunteer in Swaziland beginning in June and have been thinking about setting a mystery there. I’m not sure of the details, but I’m interested in a young Peace Corps volunteer as my amateur detective and the cross-cultural issues he will face.

My publisher has just sent me a contract for my novel, Murder
Casts a Spell. It is set in Cape Town and the nearby township of Khayelitsha. I really enjoyed writing about this setting. I think you would find it quite fascinating to set your novel in Swaziland. I’d love to hear about some of your experiences in the Peace Corps.

Hi Nancy, I just finished the 4th of your books (sadly, not in order). I’m thoroughly enjoying the series and would like to chat more with you, but that’ll have to wait until later. I’ve discovered another book is available (Lethal Lesson) for Nook. I have a Kindle and usually order through Amazon, as I did for the other 4 Lysi mysteries. If I order Lethal Lesson for Nook, will I be able to read it on my Kindle? Truthfully, I rather doubt it. If not, would it be available in paper form of any kind?

Hi Maureen, Thank you so much for your kind comments. I’m delighted you enjoy my Lysi Weston Travel Mystery Series. I’m working on my 6th novel in the series that will be set in San Francisco. My publication goal is December, 2015. Lethal Lesson is not in print format at this point. I plan to submit it for print in a couple of weeks. It will take a few months for it to appear on Amazon. I’ll certainly let you know when it is live. If you have an iPad you can download the Nook ap and read it on your iPad or iPhone—maybe even on a smart phone. Another option is to read it on a PDF.
