There are hidden treasures in Paris awaiting those visitors who are not just run of the mill tourists but who wish to be true connoisseurs of the City of Lights. For those willing to stray from the beaten path and follow the road less traveled, here is one of those treasures. Sainte Chapelle, affectionately nicknamed The Jewel Box, is the most beautiful church in Paris. It is located within the walls of the Palais de Justice on the Ile de la Cite. Sainte Chapelle was built in 1248 by King Louis IX, the only French king ever to be declared a saint. The lower chapel of the church is lovely, but the stained glass windows in the upstairs chapel are breathtaking and unforgettable.
