Serial killing is not a sex-linked behavior as many people believe. True there are far more male serial killers than female. But watch out, women who kill are out there. Below is a list of five of the most infamous:

1. Aileen Wuornos was sexually abused as a child. She suffered from antisocial personality disorder. She killed 8 men whom she enticed into thinking she was offering them sexual favors

2. Rosemary West had an abusive childhood. She got even by offering refuge to at least ten street girls then abusing and finally murdering them.

3. Countess Elizabeth Bathory was a sadist who killed countless young girls then bathed in their blood. She believed this practice would keep her young.

4. Jane Toppan who was abandoned in an orphanage then shuffled from one foster home to another later became a nurse and poisoned 31 people in her care.

5. Belle Gunness killed for money. First she killed her husband and children for the insurance money. Then she used the personal ads to lure men to her. She married them, then murdered them for their insurance or savings. In all, she killed 42 people.
