About forty kilometers outside Cape Town is the township of Khayelitsha. Although the township is considered a poor economic area, the people who live there are rich in hospitality. An example of this hospitality is Vicky’s Bed and Breakfast. The B&B, built by Vicky’s husband, is constructed of corrugated iron and painted bright yellow. The two-story structure has six guest rooms. There is a communal lounge where guests can meet and chat or watch local television. The shebeen (tavern) across the street is a great place to meet other South Africans. Vicky is also a gourmet cook. For a memorable experience that is a little different, book a night at Vicky’s Bed and Breakfast.
Khayelitsha is one of the settings for my new novel.
I like this. Do you have pictues of these places that you could add?
